Regence’-Style Bench
(The transitional period (1715-1723) between Louis XIV and Louis XV)

The serpentine top rail has a carved center medallion flanked by scrolling acanthus above a caned back to arms ending in scrolls supported by carved acanthus stiles. The caned serpentine seat is within a conforming thumb-molded frame upon a waved apron with carved acanthus medallions and scrolls. All raised on carved cabriole legs joined by two X-shape stretchers, ending in scroll feet.

Height: 36 ½", Seat Height: 18", Width: 48", Depth: 19", Overall Depth: 22".
